Jerry’s Plains Veterinary
Clinic was established fourteen years ago by Jim Rodger. Rodger &
Associates has now become widely known throughout Australia and overseas
as a specialist equine reproduction clinic. It continues to service
major thoroughbred studs in the area and the increasing non thoroughbred
industry particularly in the sphere of artificial breeding. The practice
now offers excellent facilities with the original site developing from
the site of an old dairy farm to a picturesque clinic with lawns and
trees growing between the post and rail horse yards.
The practice runs a well appointed laboratory for haematology,
biochemistry, bacteriology, cytogenetics and andrology designed not only
to support the role of the Centre for Equine Reproduction Medicine but
also to maintain the services of the general practice. The cytogenetics
laboratory is
 the only laboratory offering that service to the equine
breeding industry in Australia.
A long term interest in equine athletes is expressed in the commitment
to all horse sports including the racing industry as well polocrosse,
endurance riding, and quarter horse events such as cutting.
The needs of the local community are met by a general practice treating
farm animals and pets.
